“My roots have grown but I don’t know where they are…”
The best part of moving is having a brand new city to explore: new sights to see, new treats to taste, new wines to sample and more things to feel. I came to Santa Barbara kicking and screaming. I did not want to move again, I didn’t think my time in San Diego was over. I loved living in paradise and was convinced it was the only city in California that would make me feel that way. However, after chillin’ out for a second and grounding myself with the real world I was quietly reminded that the good life is created within us, once we begin to appreciate what’s around us.
There will come a time when I will miss these days. We don’t realize the good things we have until they are gone- it’s true with humans, relationships, cities and things. I don’t want to look back and regret not loving where I’m at so here I am sharing some of things that I’ve found that I love in Santa Barbara so far.
Plus, I’m pretty much reminded on a daily basis how lucky I am to live in a sliver of paradise along the Pacific Coast. It’s a place people vacation to, save their lives to retire at and choose. Certainly a dream destination for most can’t be that awful of a place to call home. ❤
Dear Santa Barbara,
You are growing on me. I promise to love you for who and what you are and to take more time to get to know you because judging you off some other pretty city.
Love, Me
xoxo
